BAYERN 1 is the most successful radio program in Germany. The station offers the latest music and information programs. BAYERN 1 also broadcasts regional news and football matches. There are more than 3.2 million hours of radio coverage every day.

Bayerische Rundfunk owns and operates the station. Before its official name, the station was called Horfunk and broadcasts almost exclusively German-language music.

BAYERN 1 is broadcast in Bavaria on DAB+, DVB-S and FM. Its programmes include a regional magazine, a sport-related kultprogramme and a sports-oriented talk show. Since 2016, more recent pop music is played.
